The ’03 model year was the final year for the original “AP1” S2000, and thus the final year for the incredible 9,000 RPM engine. Subsequent S2000s had a rev-limit of only 8,200 RPM, and were generally softened compared to the early cars. Honda made small updates to the original S2000 engine over time which affected reliability, & the ’03 model year is most desirable in this respect. In addition, ’02-’03 S2000s received a glass-window soft top, and revised suspension tuning which made the handling even sharper and more predictable. 39,915 miles. 3-owners. No accidents. 100% clean Carfax. 100% original paint, verified by paint meter. Zero modifications. Free & clear, clean title. This S2000 lived in Southern California from new until 2018, with its 1st and 2nd caring owners, an older car enthusiast (through 6k miles) and an engineer who maintained it fastidiously (through 39k miles). We then sourced the car locally on behalf of a client in Oregon, who has been overjoyed with the condition. After 1 year of ownership, he is ready to send this S2000 to its next caring owner to make room for incoming cars. I have sourced, owned, driven, and sold countless S2000s and can confidently say this is a fantastic example in truly striking condition. S2000s without an abundance of modifications, paintwork, or miles simply do not come along often. Maintenance Information: Fresh oil, differential fluid, transmission fluid, and new tires were all completed in Summer 2018. A new battery was installed in 2016. Please note the images show older tires, and the car is now wearing new Bridgestone Sport Compact 2 tires in OEM sizing. An engine oil analysis was completed by Blackstone Laboratories in Summer 2018, and came back with flying colors. Cosmetic Notes: 100% original paint, verified by professional paint meter. All VIN tags in place. The car has been garaged its entire life. The undercarriage, as expected for a California car, is clean and free of any surface rust or corrosion. The only flaws to note on this S2000 are some small scuffing under the front bumper as is expected, and a small tear on the soft top which has not broken through the inner surface (see last photo in listing) and could be easily patched.
